Job Summary: The English and Social Studies Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing a dynamic and engaging curriculum in English language arts and social studies for students . The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a deep understanding of the subjects, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive and challenging curriculum in English language arts and social studies aligned with state standards and school goals.
Create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring a well-rounded education for all students.
Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments to measure student understanding and progress in both English and Social Studies.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and administrators regarding academic performance.
Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Implement effective classroom management strategies to address behavioural issues and promote a focused learning environment.
Professional Development: Stay abreast of current educational trends, teaching methodologies, and best practices in English and Social Studies instruction.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school-related activities, such as clubs, committees, and events, to contribute to the overall school community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
State teaching certification in English and Social Studies.
